Google Business Profile

Spring Hill & Brooksville, FL

People pick from the map in a few seconds, and a profile in the wrong spot, the wrong category or quiet for months loses that pick before anyone sees your website.

The Problem

The map decides who gets the call, long before your website does.

Search for a sod guy, a home inspector or a care home in Hernando County and Google shows you a map with a handful of pins. Most people tap one of those and never scroll further. What they see on that panel is your Google Business Profile: the name, the category under it, the hours, the photos, the last time you posted something. If any of that is wrong or empty, the next pin wins. Most owners set the profile up once, years ago, and have not opened it since.

We are ApeShot Productions, a video and marketing studio on Commercial Way in Spring Hill. We run Google profiles for local businesses here, and the problems we find are rarely exotic. A pin sitting in the wrong county. A category that describes a different business. A service area that still says United States. No post since the day it was verified. None of these look like a big deal. All of them send the call to the next pin.

In Brooksville, the clearest case is a land company whose map pin landed in Citrus County, even though everything else it published said Brooksville. In Spring Hill, we run the post schedule for a home inspector and a sod company, and we completed the profile for a nurse-owned group home where picking the right category mattered more than it does for most businesses. Our clients also work across Pasco County, so their service areas are set to the places they really drive to.

What We Handle

Everything on the panel, kept right and kept active.

01Fix the basics Google reads firstBasics+

Business name the way customers say it, the right primary category, the real address on file (hidden if you work at the customer’s place), a service area made of actual towns, hours, services and a description written in plain words.

02A new post every Tuesday and FridayPosts+

We load months of posts at a time and they go out on schedule. Each one covers a real service or a town you work in, and each one sends people to the matching page on your site. Google does not allow phone numbers in post text, so the call goes on Google’s own Call button.

03Photos and video from your real workMedia+

A profile with no photos looks closed. We are a video production studio, so we can shoot the pictures and clips your profile needs instead of leaving it to a phone in a hurry. For which clips to make, see why your Google Business Profile needs video.

04Review asks customers actually answerReviews+

One customer at a time, about two a week, never in a burst. We give you a direct review link and a printable QR code, and we suggest customers mention the job and the town. No gifts, no discounts for reviews, no asking family.

05Verification and suspension checkRisk+

We look for the things that get profiles flagged, like a name stuffed with keywords or an address that does not match, and we help you plan the verification video if Google asks for one. That is advice. Google makes the final call.

06A look at the map before and afterCheck+

Before we change anything, we search the way your customers do from a few spots around Hernando County and save what comes up. We check again after the change set settles, so you see what moved and what did not.

Real Profiles · Adams Earthworx, All Corners, Murphy's Sod & Care Smith

Four local profiles we run right now.

Each of these is a public Google profile on Maps. We are listed as a Manager on them, and the owners still own them. Here is what we found on each one and what we did about it.

01 · Land clearing · Brooksville

Adams Earthworx

Adams Earthworx has cleared and graded land out of Brooksville since 2016. When we took over the profile in August it was verified but empty: no hours, no description, no photos. Then we found a bigger problem. The profile had no address stored, so Google guessed, and it put the public pin about 20 miles away in Citrus County. On September 25 we added the real Brooksville address as a hidden address and kept the service area. The name cleanup from “Adams Earthworx,LLC” to plain Adams Earthworx is already live. Google is still catching up on the address change, and we are measuring the results again as it does. One more thing we learned here: Google has no Land clearing or Grading category, so Excavating contractor is the honest primary pick. See the kind of film we make for this trade on our land clearing video page.

All Corners Home Inspection

Jay Sampson runs All Corners Home Inspection in Spring Hill. We were added as a Manager in late August and started his post schedule the same day. Posts rotate through wind mitigation, 4-point inspections, new construction, pre-listing checks, and waterfront homes with docks, seawalls and pools, plus posts for Brooksville, Hudson, Homosassa and Weeki Wachee. Every post links to the matching page on his site. For reviews, we swapped an old shortened link for a direct Google review link and a QR code he can hand to clients at the end of an inspection.

Murphy's Sod & Landscaping

Murphy’s Sod has been family run since 2008 and lays sod across Pasco, Hernando and Citrus. Their posts follow the Florida lawn calendar: the fall sod window, winter dormancy, the dry season. The schedule rotates through 21 towns they serve, so the profile talks about the places their crews really go. We also monitor new reviews as they come in on the profile.

Care Smith Google Business Profile on Google Maps, managed by ApeShot Productions
04 · Care provider · Spring Hill

Care Smith

Care Smith is a nurse-owned group home in Spring Hill for adults with developmental disabilities. The owner created the listing, and in September we set up and completed the rest of it. The category took the most thought. We used Group home with Disability services & support organization as the second category, and on purpose left off Assisted living facility and Nursing home, because those describe a different license type. The profile shows open 24 hours, lists seven services, keeps the address hidden, and replaces Google’s placeholder service area of United States with nine real places, from Hernando and Pasco counties to Spring Hill and Brooksville.

How It Works

Four steps. You stay the owner.

01Add us as a Manager

You sign in to the Google account that owns the profile and invite us. No passwords change hands, and you can remove us any time.

02One round of fixes

We go through name, category, address on file, service area, hours, services, photos and description, and make the changes together so Google sees one clean update instead of a dozen small edits.

03Start the post schedule

Posts go out every Tuesday and Friday, each about a real service or town and each linked to the right page on your site. Sites that need work can go to our website management team.

04Reviews and the map, checked

You get a review link and QR code to hand out. We compare the map before and after each round of changes and tell you plainly what we see.

Common Questions

Google Business Profile management, answered.

What does Google Business Profile management include?
It means keeping your profile correct and active: the right name, category, address on file, service area, hours, services and photos, plus new posts twice a week and an easy way for customers to leave a review. For Adams Earthworx, All Corners Home Inspection and Murphy’s Sod, that includes a Tuesday and Friday post schedule, plus fixing the address Google had for Adams. For Care Smith, it was choosing categories that match the license and filling in the empty sections of the profile.
What does it cost?
It depends on what is wrong with your profile right now and how much ongoing posting and upkeep you want. On the free 30-minute call, Josh opens your profile with you, shows you what needs fixing and tells you what it would take, before you decide anything. If you want video too, we make that as well through our video production work.
Why is my business showing in the wrong place on Google Maps?
Usually because Google has no address stored for you, so it guesses where to put the pin. That is what happened to a Brooksville land company we work with: Google placed it about 20 miles away in Citrus County. The fix is to add your real address, then give Google time to catch up. If customers do not come to you, the address can stay hidden while your service area shows instead.
Which category should I pick for my Google Business Profile?
Pick the primary category that honestly describes what you do most, even if the obvious word is missing from Google’s list. There is no Land clearing category, for example, so a land clearing company fits best under Excavating contractor. For a group home, Group home is right and Assisted living facility is wrong, because they mean different licenses. Only add extra categories for work you really do.
Do I need an LLC to have a Google Business Profile?
No, Google does not require an LLC. It wants a real business that meets customers in person, either at your location or at theirs. Use the name your customers know you by on the profile. That is why we cleaned up the Adams Earthworx profile name to drop the “,LLC”.
Where do I find the Google Business Profile Manager, and do I have to give you my login?
The Manager setting lives in your profile’s menu under people and access, and you never hand over your login. Sign in to the Google account that owns the profile, open your profile, find that setting and invite us by email as a Manager. You stay the owner the whole time and can remove us whenever you like.
How do I pass Google's video verification?
Record one continuous video, with no cuts, that proves the business is real and that you run it. Show where you work, like your sign out front or your work truck with its lettering, show the tools of your trade, and show something only the owner can open, like the shop door or the office. We can help you plan and shoot it, but only Google decides whether it passes.
Can you guarantee I'll show up in the top 3 on the map?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who says they can. How close a customer is when they search plays a big part, and nobody controls that. What we can do is fix what Google reads, keep the profile active, and check the map before and after every change.
What's New

Your Google profile can ride along on your Google ads.

When a Google ads account is linked to your Google Business Profile, Google can show your address, star rating and Call button right on a search ad. The profile work on this page then shows up in paid results too, not only on the map.

When one ads account runs more than one business, we set every campaign to show only its own business’s profile, so a call from an ad always reaches the right company. We run Facebook and Google ads too.

Let's open your profile and look.
